Steve Lawler - Courses for Horses
Recorded exclusively for his latest compilation Viva London, Steve Lawler presents his latest single, a definitive techno anthem for the noughties......
‘Courses’ is a deep, brooding monster that marries twisted percussion, throbbing bass and a melodic guitar riff - the type of track that peak time was invented for.
Thanks to meticulous production the track relies on a full 3 minutes of bass-free beats to lull the listener into a near false sense of security ......... before all hell is let loose and the thunder arrives - a definite ‘moment’ by the standards of any record as Steve testifies: “I’ve been really happy with the reaction to the record. It was made for the bigger darker floors and big, scary sound systems and it’s been working well.”
“Just as with the compilation I’ve been really energized and excited by the music that’s currently out there and it’s had a really positive impact on my own productions” says Steve.
Two further versions come alongside the single, including the handy mixing tool ‘Reprise’ so there is little doubt that ‘Courses For Horses’ is a track that will find its way on to many of the world’s leading dance floors - be it Germany, Ibiza or, of course, Viva London.
‘Courses’ marks the first of two tracks Steve recorded exclusively for the album; the second, ‘Violet’ will follow later in the year on his own label, VIVA Music.
